About the role

This role oversees the Operations team, ensuring deadlines are met, tasks are executed and coordinated, and complex problems are identified, analyzed, and resolved. The position requires a strong understanding of foundational operations and familiarity with a specific product line, with a focus on US IRW Tax Withholding and Reporting. Responsibilities include handling reporting related to 1099, 1042, 1042S, and other outsourced functions, coordinating globally with colleagues in GBAM Operations Tax & Control, GBAM Tax Change, GBAM Technology, Global Tax Policy, and Global Tax Compliance. The role also involves servicing tax-related client inquiries and escalations, and driving tax initiatives and regulatory implementations in partnership with GBAM Tax Change and GBAM Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Resolves day-to-day problems and executes deliverables within the business unit.
  • Applies knowledge of end-to-end processes to ensure adherence to bank and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Manages team workload, providing oversight and direction.
  • Evaluates efficiencies and identifies areas of improvement to implement process enhancements.
  • Maintains internal, operational, and financial controls while working within the risk appetite of the business unit.

Requirements

  • Four or more years of experience delivering end-to-end tax reporting in support of Global Markets, Trade Finance, and Commercial Credit products, including complex transaction flows.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Treasury regulations, including Chapters 3, 4, and 61, with demonstrated familiarity in information reporting requirements such as Forms 1099 and 1042-S.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with a strong emphasis on Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Proven ability to perform complex reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues through structured, analytical approaches.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail across processes and deliverables.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate issues, solutions, and status updates to stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.
