About the Role

Under limited supervision, assists professionals in the field with operations specialist duties per role-specific knowledge. Responsible for oil and gas well operations, well testing, operating and maintaining field equipment and facilities. Provides operational assistance to personnel based on specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for surveillance of field operations and maintenance of various databases regarding production operations.
  • Provide basic technical and mechanical assistance to production operations personnel.
  • Analyze various tickets, work orders, records, and other administrative reports to manage trends and support recommendations.
  • Proficient understanding of oil and gas flow operations and relative equipment.
  • Train, mentor, and coach less experienced employees.
  • Conduct job safety analysis.
  • Attend integrated solutions meetings and interact with engineers.
  • Manage and support all areas of operations to ensure internal process and daily requirements are fulfilled.
  • Coordinate with third-party contractors to schedule and follow up on installation and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure all work assignments are carried out with the highest level of quality and safety precautions.
  • Conduct business with the highest ethical standards; demonstrate decision-making skills that ensure the safety of all persons associated with SM facilities.
  • Input and audit AVM reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Troubleshoot, commission (PSSR’s), and perform daily operations on equipment.
  • Learn and become an expert with all current and upcoming process equipment.
  • Coordinate field repairs with third-party construction crews.
  • Support the Operations Surveillance Room.
  • Maintain a well-versed understanding of SCADA, PLC, POC, VFD, and Well Analyzer systems.
  • Understand all facility and facility automation equipment including O2 analyzers, H2S detection devices, VRU’s, VRV’s, VRT’s, Static Mixers, Varro Units, Dryer Units, and compressed air systems.
  • Work with third-party companies to ensure good relations.
  • Train and mentor lease operators; backfill as a lease operator when needed.
  • Maintain proper inventory and material transfer.
  • Review trends of production data to identify anomalies.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure found issues are being communicated and properly corrected.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 4+ years of work experience required; oil and gas industry experience a plus.
  • Proficient level of skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands

  • Work in various weather conditions and environments.
  • Move, transport, and position equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manipulate valves, gauges, and other control mechanisms.
  • Operate a motor vehicle to travel between well sites.
  • Ability to climb up to 30 feet in height and function without fear.
  • Stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must meet and maintain eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle or possess a valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
