About the role

Ensure the proper acceptance, storage, handling, and loading of dangerous goods, as well as the correctness and retention of related documents required by legislation and FedEx policy. Handle spills of dangerous goods and respond to questions from staff and customers on dangerous goods handling. Provide awareness training to other staff.

Responsibilities

  • Accept, store, handle, and load dangerous goods in compliance with legislation and FedEx policy.
  • Maintain accuracy and retention of dangerous goods documentation.
  • Respond to and manage spills of dangerous goods.
  • Address questions from staff and customers regarding dangerous goods handling.
  • Deliver awareness training on dangerous goods to other staff.
  • Complete and maintain all dangerous goods certifications.
  • Complete all basic and recurrency training as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months of FedEx experience preferred.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods handling, labeling, and documentation requirements.
  • Strong human relations and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver packages up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment.
  • Must be able to complete mandatory testing and training, including recurrence training and annual accreditations.
  • Ability to work varying shifts based on business needs.
  • If residing in Quebec, must be bilingual (French and English).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license (e.g., Class 5, G, or 1 [AZ]) with a driving record showing two or fewer violations/accidents in the past 24 months (for positions requiring driving as a core competency).

Schedule

Part-time: 2 positions available (1 AM shift and 1 PM shift). Timings to be determined.
