Sr. Network Engineer (Lathrop, CA) Role Overview Specialize in network engineering within a global enterprise environment. Provide network engineering, implementation, analytical, and operational support. Ensure compliance with system architecture, regulations, security policies, and best practices. Author and maintain support documentation. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Staff Network Engineers on network design and strategic initiatives. Maintain and support current network solutions across workplaces, factories, and logistics warehouses. Serve as a Tier-1/2 escalation point for network issues. Work with manufacturing engineers to gather requirements and propose network solutions. Provision, implement, test/validate, and maintain networking services according to solution designs. Adhere strictly to the change request and management process. Monitor, analyze, and report on network service metrics. Document network procedures, knowledge base, and operational Run-Book. Availability for occasional weekend, after-hours, and holiday work. Travel up to 10% as needed. Qualifications 6+ years experience in mid-large global enterprise networking infrastructure. In-depth experience with IP networking, L2/L3 protocols (spanning-tree, OSPF, BGP), LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, routing, QoS, VLAN, ACL, application flow, NAC, and infrastructure cabling. Hands-on experience with multi-vendor firewall technologies (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper SRX). Expertise in multi-vendor switching technologies (Juniper EX/QFX, Cisco Industrial Ethernet). Familiarity with low voltage CAT6, fiber, IT room layout, and environmental requirements. Experience troubleshooting with circuit carriers. Experience with tools such as protocol analyzers, Git, and Splunk. Ability to develop scripts for automating infrastructure deployment and metrics collection. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Skills And Competencies Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
