About the role

The Senior Network Engineer / Architect role is based at either Cabot location (Alpharetta, GA, Boston, MA or Billerica, MA), but is eligible to participate in the current Hybrid Working Arrangement program (Monday/Friday remote and Tuesday-Thursday in office).

Responsibilities

  • Owns the global enterprise network platform (LAN, WAN, wireless, remote access, voice, and perimeter services).
  • Ensures network architecture and operations are aligned to enterprise security principles and risk tolerance.
  • Establishes and enforces global network standards, design patterns, and implementation models.
  • Ensures the network operates as a security-aligned control plane, not solely a connectivity service.
  • Lead and directly execute global network engineering and modernization initiatives across firewalls, switching and routing, wireless infrastructure, and voice/collaboration platforms.
  • Design, configure, and implement network solutions aligned to defined architecture, standards, and enterprise security principles.
  • Plan and execute site deployments, migration activities, cutover events, and post-deployment stabilization (hypercare).
  • Develop and maintain network design documentation, runbooks, operational procedures, and as-built configurations.
  • Coordinate with regional IT teams, managed service providers, and vendors to deliver consistent global implementations.
  • Act as the point of escalation for managed service providers on network and security-related issues, providing technical direction and driving resolution of complex or systemic problems.
  • Provide hands-on engineering leadership for complex network design, implementation, and problem resolution.
  • Govern MSP-delivered network services, ensuring execution aligns to standards, SLAs, and architectural intent.
  • Define operational expectations, validation requirements, and acceptance criteria for network changes and deployments.
  • Ensure the network supports logging, telemetry, detection, and response requirements.
  • Translate technical network risk into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
  • Ensure all implementations adhere to defined architecture, standards, and security principles, with authority to require redesign or remediation where necessary.

Requirements

10+ years in enterprise networking (engineering and architecture).

University degree or equivalent experience in related technologies required.

Strong knowledge of routing, switching, WAN architectures, and network security controls.

Experience with Zero Trust concepts, segmentation strategies, and secure access models.

Hands-on experience operating within an MSP or hybrid delivery model.

Excellent English skills, both verbal and written.

Experience with industry certifications: CCNP, CCDA/CCDP, Fortinet NSE 4 or higher, CWNA.

Familiarity with InfoSec frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, or equivalent).

Experience with scripting or automation experience (Python, Ansible).

Bilingual or multilingual capability supporting Cabot's global footprint.

Qualifications

Experience owning or operating a global network platform.

Experience with SASE / SSE platforms (Zscaler, Netskope, Prisma, etc.).

Cloud networking (Azure, AWS).

Operational technology (OT) and industrial network segmentation.

Skills

Strong understanding of network architecture within global industrial or manufacturing environments.

Experience with ServiceNow for change and incident management.

Benefits

The pay range for this role is from $143,650-$214,900. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skill, qualifications, experience and location.

In addition, all positions are eligible for health benefits on the first day of employment, 401K savings plans, vision, dental and annual bonus based on company performance.
