Warner Chappell Production Music (WCPM) is a global leader in production and custom music, backed by 40 years of industry success. Owned by Warner Chappell Music and part of Warner Music Group, WCPM operates out of Los Angeles with a network of offices worldwide. Our massive sync licensing catalog features over 200,000 unique tracks, with 900+ new albums released annually across every genre. Beyond our catalog, we house state-of-the-art recording studios in Los Angeles where we compose and produce custom music-for-picture for a premier client base spanning TV, film, streaming, advertising, and news.
Responsibilities
- Operate out of state-of-the-art Hollywood studios and report to the US Head of Production.
- Produce and executive produce projects while helping spearhead custom music-for-picture initiatives.
- Oversee freelance composers and producers to ensure world-class music and sound design.
- Blend creative intuition with data-driven insights and emerging trends to shape the future of the catalog.
- Drive the expansion of WCPM’s custom music client base across the industry.
Requirements
- Proven experience composing to picture, particularly in TV, advertising, and film.
- Experience in developing 'Sonic Identities' for series and brands, ensuring a cohesive musical language.
- Extensive experience navigating the post-production lifecycle, including temp-score replacement and stems for dubbing stages.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with and pitching to clients.
- High aesthetic and technical standards commensurate with WCPM's high quality products and services.
- Experience negotiating fees and compiling production budgets.
- Strong knowledge of recording studio operations, including a working knowledge of engineering staff roles.
- Experience composing and/or producing in a variety of genres.
- Understanding of publishing, master, and sync rights.
- Working knowledge of AFM and SAG-AFTRA regulations regarding session musicians and vocalists.
- Experience with multimodal generative AI tools and AI music generation tools.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in a music production or post-production environment.
- A proven 'Rolodex' of active relationships with Executive Producers, Showrunners, and Heads of Production at major networks and streaming platforms.
- Experience in custom music packages specifically in unscripted programming (i.e., not scored to picture), with additional library support.
- Proficiency in Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and other industry-standard DAWs and software.
- Knowledge of metadata structure and search software.
