Sr. Mortgage/MSP Accountant

General Job Description

Our client is looking for a Senior Mortgage Reconciliation Accountant to support its mortgage accounting team, with an immediate focus on resolving and stabilizing mortgage servicing reconciliations. This individual will investigate complex reconciliation issues, work through discrepancies independently, and help establish effective processes going forward.

Job Requirements

• 5-7+ years of accounting or finance experience with strong mortgage servicing accounting and reconciliation experience
• Hands-on MSP experience, including understanding of MSP accounting/reporting and GLCF tables
• Experience reconciling mortgage servicing activity to a separate General Ledger system
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently research discrepancies, follow transactions through to resolution, and recommend solutions
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex accounting issues to non-accounting business partners
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and relevant experience
