Sr. Midrange Engineer - IBMi

About the role

The Sr. Midrange Engineer - IBMi is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining IBM i systems in various locations across the United States. This role requires expertise in system administration, database management, and application development on IBM i platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement IBM i systems to meet business requirements
• Manage and maintain IBM i environments, including hardware and software configurations
• Develop and support IBM i applications using RPG, CL, and other programming languages
• Perform database administration tasks such as schema design, data integrity checks, and performance tuning
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of IBM i systems with other enterprise applications
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IBM i system administration and application development
• Proficiency in IBM i tools and technologies, including TSO, ISPF, and IMS
• Experience with SQL and relational databases
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) certification preferred
• Knowledge of cloud-based solutions and hybrid IT environments
• Experience with IBM i security best practices

Pay

Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually
