Tampa Electric Company is seeking a strategically oriented Sr Manager of Procurement & Contracts to oversee strategic sourcing, category management, and complex procurement activities in Tampa, Florida. This 8-hour, 5-day-per-week leadership role drives cost-saving strategies, builds supplier relationships, and mentors a high-performing team.
About the Role
The Procurement and Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager is responsible for developing and implementing procurement policies, leading high-level contract negotiations, and collaborating across departments to meet organizational goals. The role requires deep expertise in supplier relationship management, data-driven decision-making, and continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of procurement managers and professionals to ensure high performance and growth.
- Oversee end-to-end procurement and strategic sourcing for key categories, aligning with organizational goals and market trends.
- Build and sustain long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers and business partners.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance using KPIs, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Lead high-level contract negotiations to secure favorable terms, competitive pricing, and conditions.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Operations, Finance, Legal) to meet procurement needs efficiently.
- Develop and execute procurement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance.
- Analyze procurement data to track performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Drive innovation in sourcing strategies, technologies, and methodologies to enhance efficiency.
- Implement cost-reduction strategies and optimize supplier relationships to meet budgetary targets.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging procurement best practices.
- Respond to storm-related emergencies as a condition of employment, ensuring critical service continuity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management.
- At least 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience.
- Expertise in supplier relationship management (SRM), contract negotiation, and procurement best practices.
- Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba, GEP, Coupa) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional certifications (e.g., APICS, NCMA, ISM) are a plus.
