About the role
The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the Maintenance Department at a nuclear power plant, ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant operations. This includes managing all maintenance activities, overseeing contractors, and maintaining plant structures and facilities.
Responsibilities
- Participate in station management to ensure safe and efficient operation, aligning with corporate and site goals.
- Execute maintenance activities during various phases of operation, including on-line, forced outages, refuel outages, and unplanned power reductions.
- Maintain plant structures and facilities in safe and proper condition through the use of internal and external personnel.
- Establish and execute a continuous assessment program to ensure maintenance excellence according to site, corporate, and industry standards.
- Facilitate and manage business plan improvement initiatives, projects, resource sharing opportunities, and staffing strategies.
- Support emergency response, departmental coverage, call outs, and outage activities in positions outside the department.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear) or related science with 10 years overall experience, including 4 years in power plants and 2 years in nuclear power plants, plus 1 year of supervisory or managerial experience.
- Associate's degree in engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear) or related science with 12 years overall experience, including 4 years in power plants and 2 years in nuclear power plants, plus 1 year of supervisory or managerial experience, meeting ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 equivalency.
- Must meet additional requirements as outlined in ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014.
- Minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, favorable medical examination and/or testing.
Qualifications
- Managerial experience in a Maintenance discipline (EMD, IMD, MMD).
- Current or prior Senior Reactor Operator License or Certification.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear) or related science.
Skills
Strong leadership skills, knowledge of nuclear power plant operations, ability to manage multiple tasks, and proficiency in maintenance procedures are essential.
