Sr Mgr., Application Dev
About the role
The Senior Manager, Application Development leads the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of software solutions that support critical operations at CVS Health. This role serves as a technical leader, owning end-to-end delivery of complex initiatives while leveraging approved technologies, standards, and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes business requirements and architect scalable, high-quality solutions to address complex challenges.
- Maintains project deliverables, establishes and monitors timelines, and proactively communicates status updates to leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Delivers development efforts within defined schedules and quality expectations.
- Drives innovation by recommending and implementing solutions that align with enterprise standards and business objectives.
- Collaborates with business analysts, stakeholders, and technical teams to coordinate development activities ensuring alignment, efficiency, and successful outcomes.
- Led the adoption and refinement of methodologies, standards, and guidelines including system design, development, architectural frameworks, unit testing, debugging, and documentation.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on experience as an Applications Developer, Software Engineer, Full Stack Developer, Systems Architect or similar role.
- 5+ years of experience using the C# programming language to build, deploy, and maintain software applications using Microsoft's .NET development ecosystem.
- 5+ years of experience working with .NET frameworks, Angular, MVC architecture, and JavaScript.
- 5+ years of strong experience in SQL development, including advanced SQL query writing, performance tuning and optimization, development and maintenance of SQL Server stored procedures and related methodologies.
- Experience with health care or PBM industry including claims adjudication processing (preferred).
- 1+ years experience with GCPU (preferred).
- Understanding of Web security.
- SSIS and SSRS experience (preferred).
- Visual Studio, SQL Server, 3rd party controls (i.e., Telerik) experience (preferred).
- Data delivery support – data feed and file transfer experience (preferred).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field relevant professional experience required.

- Strong understanding of modern software architecture, technical principles, and emerging technologies.
