About the role
This position is for a Senior Member of Engineering Staff (SMES) for the Command, Control, and Communications (C3) programs within the C3S Engineering organization. The C3 Engineer is responsible for developing integrated communication systems for both internal and external comms. The role involves analyzing system requirements, performing signal processing, and data analysis. Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineers, to ensure seamless integration, testing and validation of the overall system architecture.
Responsibilities
- Full Systems Engineering Life Cycle experience from baseline concept definition, System Design Review (SDR), through the Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR) as well as System Integration and Engineering Test (SEIT).
- Applies Model-Based Systems Engineering principles, methods, and tools to support system architecture development, requirements management, design analysis, integration, and verification throughout the system lifecycle.
- Understanding of communications and network protocols, appropriate for mission-critical, near-real-time, military applications.
- Proficient with software tools used for systems engineering (i.e. requirements management, systems architecture and modeling, engineering change management, product life-cycle management, etc.).
- System integration and test engineering expertise, including technical leadership to perform verification activities including functional and environmental qualification.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills; works with others to coordinate efforts, resolve cross-team issues and effectively communicate changes.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security clearance.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and at least 6 years of related experience.
- Experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering principles, methods, and tools to support system architecture development, requirements management, design analysis, integration, and verification throughout the system lifecycle.
- Relevant experience with design, development and delivery of next-generation products for maritime customers.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Master’s degree desired.
- Experience with design, operation, and maintenance of military communications.
- Active Security Clearance preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, exercising strong initiative, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Pay
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $90,500 - $140,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
Schedule
9/80 Regular (9/80 Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off)
