About the role
We are looking for a Sr. Mechatronics Engineer to join our Central Engineering team in Milpitas, CA.
Responsibilities
- Design real-time architecture for digital signal processors in general motion control systems.
- Develop advanced motion control for multi-axis motion systems.
- Perform servo loop design and tuning for nanometer-scale motion systems.
- Write Python and MATLAB scripts to accelerate the tuning process.
- Research and implement new control algorithms to improve system performance.
- Follow rigorous firmware design control methodology, including requirements specifications, architecture specifications, design descriptions, verification plans, and test cases.
- Collaborate with software and mechanical teams for stage sub-system design.
- Create user documentation that meets defined quality standards for manufacturing and service.
- Drive the development, testing, and integration of complex electrical components and subsystems.
- Work with manufacturing and service teams to ensure smooth product transition into production and field deployment for high-precision motion systems.
Requirements
- Strong background in control theory, including linear, nonlinear, digital, robust, and adaptive control.
- 5+ years of experience in firmware development with C/C++ in a real-time operating system environment.
- Experience in firmware programming and software architecture design.
- Experience in servo loop tuning for nanoscale motion systems.
- Experience in designing, developing, and integrating complex electrical components and subsystems.
- Ability to analyze motion control system requirements and define optimal system architectural partitioning for performance, cost, and reliability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
- Doctorate Degree with 3+ years of related work experience, or
- Master’s Degree with 6+ years of related work experience, or
- Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of related work experience.
Pay
Base pay range: $141,300 – $240,200 annually.
