Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and minimum 10-15 years of work experience as a licensed engineer. Individual shall be Engineer of Record in several states.
Responsibilities
- Implement engineering projects, including Construction Documents, Coordination with other disciplines, Permitting, Bidding, and Construction Administration in accordance with client requirements and code.
- Ensure high level of quality assurance on products such as Construction documents, specifications, and RFI responses.
- Complete the job requirements of Project Engineer successfully.
- Research, develop, and stay updated with the latest designs in coordination with vendors, senior engineers, and other online resources.
- Apply excellent knowledge of discipline-specific codes and other building codes.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Lead and educate clients on design and other project requirements.
- Meet with the Project Architect and Project Manager to discuss design scope, schedule, budget, phasing, site issues, and design review issues.
- Estimate discipline man-hours required to complete the design requirements of a project.
- Serve as the main point of contact for a project or series of projects with clients, contractors, and consultants with limited input required from the Project Manager or Principal.
- Ensure coordination with architectural and engineering disciplines.
- Oversee the design and production of engineering construction documents and specifications for projects/programs.
- Maintain Cuhaci & Peterson and/or the client’s standards.
- Anticipate and resolve issues as they arise.
- Provide ongoing quality control throughout the project.
- Obtain and perform peer review of documents.
- Oversee setting up project budget(s) and completing designated scope of work within allotted time.
- Communicate owner revisions and RFIs.
- Assist in representing the client’s interests at public hearings and meetings, as needed.
- Provide customer service to maintain client relationships.
- Mentor and train engineering designers to produce high-quality construction documents within the allotted budget.
