Job Summary As Senior Mechanical Engineer in Omaha, NE, you will serve as the technical lead on simple and combined cycle power generation and heavy industrial projects. Our client is seeking a skilled professional with 10+ years of power generation experience to direct technical designs, manage project schedules, and oversee equipment specs. This postion can be done fully remote with the expectation that you can visit the Omaha NE office a few times a year. location: Omaha, Nebraska job type: Contract salary: $77 - 86 per hour work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Bachelors Responsibilities Serve as the Mechanical Lead on simple/combined cycle power generation and heavy industrial projects while directing technical designs, project schedules, and budgets. Prepare equipment inquiry/RFQ packages, perform detailed technical bid evaluations, and review vendor documentation for compliance with project and ASME standards. Develop job notes, technical scopes of work, and man-hour proposal estimates while conducting field walk-downs to gather project data. Evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques while mentoring junior staff and presenting technical insights to clients, vendors, and internal teams.
