Sr. Mechanical Engineer
We are currently hiring in our Building Engineering Division - Energy Infrastructure team in our White Plains, NY office. Our Energy Infrastructure team provides comprehensive energy efficiency and renewable energy consultancy, including feasibility analyses and design of mechanical systems. Our engineers are well-versed in all aspects of building and energy systems design for a variety of new construction, renovations, and design/build projects.
About the role
The Mechanical Engineer will work in a lead role on a variety of decarbonization/electrification projects, developing projects from feasibility stages through design and construction. A successful candidate will collaborate effectively in a team, mentor junior engineers, and communicate with clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead design of building HVAC systems and district energy systems
- Conduct field investigations to document existing conditions
- Perform selection and calculations for design purposes
- Work with junior engineers to develop and review project drawings and documentation
- Interact directly with clients to analyze design options, complete cost-benefit comparisons, and communicate results to assist in decision-making
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and utility requirements
Requirements
- 8-10 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
- Well-rounded experience in HVAC and hydronic system design
- Preferred: experience designing geothermal or district energy systems
- Experience with Revit or AutoCAD
- New York State Professional Engineer's license (a plus)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Pay
Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 per year. The specific salary offered may be influenced by factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
