About the Role
Continental Electronics Corporation (CEC) is a leading provider of RF technologies and innovative solutions with 80 years of proven performance. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will serve as a senior-level individual contributor and technical expert for assigned mechanical and electro-mechanical products and systems. This role involves product design, cross-functional alignment, progress communication, and issue escalation. You will act as the mechanical technology owner for product development.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems by designing and conducting research programs, applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
- Confirm system and product capabilities through feasibility studies, testing methods, and property analysis.
- Develop mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements, researching manufacturing methods, testing materials, and soliciting operator feedback.
- Design and modify equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components to improve manufacturing processes.
- Assure system and product quality by designing testing methods, evaluating finished products, and confirming fabrication and installation processes.
- Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
- Maintain system and product databases by writing computer programs and entering data.
- Interface with cross-functional teams (Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Technicians) to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced engineers, designers, technicians, and team members.
- Proficiently use industry-standard simulation and analysis software (e.g., FEA, CFD) to solve complex problems.
- Communicate effectively across functional boundaries to achieve common goals within a broader program team.

Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis.
- Expertise in advanced solid modeling with proficiency in creating complex geometric models (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
- Experience with drafting principles and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
- Proven technical writing skills for clear, concise engineering documentation.
- Advanced understanding of heat transfer, strength of materials, and materials selection methodologies.
- Ability to perform thermal and structural analysis using industry tools (FEA & CFD).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government-issued Secret security clearance.

Pay
Annual base salary may range from $107,000 to $153,000. Final compensation will be determined based on job level, geographic location, experience, skills, education, and market considerations.
