About the Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer for connector Mezzanine Products, you will be responsible for mechanical connector design, mechanical analysis, front-end customer support, and supporting new business opportunities. This position will serve as the key mechanical development engineer representative in the connector design group to support new connector design at customers, component, documentation, and quality issues as they arise. The role involves working as part of a global cross-functional team and includes customer interaction.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative product solutions.
• Review product designs to ensure product performance and customer requirements are met.
• Utilize 3D CAD software to develop derivative designs.
• Prepare samples for development studies and DOEs.
• Analyze designs utilizing Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Collect, record, and analyze data.
• Develop and review product performance specifications.
• Ensure projects are completed on time.
• Ensure connector derivative designs are cost-effective.
• Work with component suppliers to bring up new designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 to 10 years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficient in 3D modeling using SolidWorks.
• General understanding of drawing standards such as ASME Y14.5.
• General knowledge of component tooling DFM.
• General understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Ability to communicate well with global customers and all levels of the organization, including management, marketing, sales, process engineering, test lab personnel, and other engineers (local and global).
• Ability to prioritize, work to meet objectives, and manage multiple activities/projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience.
• General knowledge of molding, stamping, and plating.
