Sr Manufacturing Technician

About the Role
We are seeking a Sr Manufacturing Technician to support and improve the manufacturing of consumables, with a focus on executing end-to-end assembly, reagent fill and finish, QC development, and materials sourcing, forecasting, and inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Consumables Manufacturing & Assembly
- Perform and support assembly of consumable products and components in accordance with established procedures and quality requirements.
- Develop, improve, and document assembly processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, yield, reliability, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and work cross-functionally to identify and implement corrective actions.
- QC Tools & Process Development
- Support the development, qualification, and implementation of QC tools, fixtures, and methods used to evaluate manufactured products.
- Troubleshoot QC and manufacturing issues and help drive root-cause investigations.
- Maintain clear documentation of testing procedures, results, and process changes.
- Material Inventory & Lab Management
- Own day-to-day manufacturing material planning, including forecasting consumable and reagent requirements.
- Track material usage, lead times, supplier performance, and upcoming manufacturing needs.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve material availability and quality issues.
- Help establish scalable systems for production planning, purchasing, and inventory management as the company grows.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient workspace, with materials, equipment, and supplies properly managed and readily accessible.
- Contribute to process validation, equipment qualification, and manufacturing scale-up activities as needed.
- Support implementation of lean and continuous improvement practices.
- Work independently while proactively communicating risks, priorities, and resource needs to the broader team.
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to support successful product launches and ongoing production.
Requirements
- Required
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in biotechnology, life sciences, diagnostics, medical devices, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Associate degree or undergraduate degree in biotechnology, biology, biochemistry, chemistry, engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent relevant experience may also be considered.
- Hands-on experience with consumables assembly, reagent handling, manufacturing, or laboratory production.
- Experience with inventory management, material planning, purchasing, or supply coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of projects and day-to-day responsibilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures while also identifying opportunities to improve them.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
- Preferred
- Experience developing or improving QC methods, fixtures, tools, or test processes.
- Experience with biotech, molecular biology, diagnostics, or life science consumables.
- Experience working under a quality management system or in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP, inventory management, or purchasing systems.
- Familiarity with GMP, ISO, or other applicable quality standards.
- Experience supporting manufacturing scale-up from R&D or prototype production into repeatable manufacturing.

Pay
The anticipated salary range for this position is $85,000 – $95,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
