Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

We are a high-paced and agile manufacturing organization experiencing rapid growth. We are seeking a multi-faceted production and manufacturing engineer who understands formal manufacturing environments and can focus on key elements to drive us to the next level. This broad role spans shaping our MRP system, evolving material and production management systems, and planning production, with a primary focus on transitioning designs from development to production—particularly integrating products into UAVs and USVs.

Responsibilities

  • Develops Assembly Work Instructions (AWIs) in conjunction with the development and production teams.
  • Develops tooling, fixtures, jigs, and shop aids to support production of UAVs/USVs.
  • Evaluates existing manufacturing processes to improve them, working broadly from supply chain to business systems to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing and implementing testing methods where required.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
  • Maintains product and process database by writing computer programs and entering data.
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field (required).
  • Master’s Degree (preferred).
  • 9+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering roles.
  • Experience using CAD or CAM software (SOLIDWORKS).
  • Experience with 3D printing.
  • Experience with fixtures, shop aids, and work instructions.
  • Defense manufacturing experience (a plus, but not required).
  • U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance.
