Sr. Manager Transportation
About the role
The Senior Transportation Manager is responsible for supporting Danone USA’s transportation operations to ensure high service and cost-efficient deliveries. This position interfaces with Danone’s 3rd party logistics provider, plant and warehouse teams, co-man operations, customer experience, logistics procurement, and carrier partners.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a plan to improve management of dedicated fleets and shuttles, working closely with facilities to maintain operations and improve efficiency
- Act as transportation management point of contact for all business units
- Support project implementations as an expert in transportation activities and point of contact for the logistics excellence team to drive productivity
- Support regional transportation activities
- Act as point of contact for transportation escalations in assigned region, using conflict resolution skills to resolve issues and support carrier relationships
- Develop and report on performance KPIs across managed region (OTIF, spend, etc.)
- Maintain pulse on managed transportation activities within assigned region, communicating volume expectations for capacity by lane evaluation
- Proactively identify and communicate issues and propose solutions for continuous improvement in regard to processes, cost, service, and profitability
- Support analysis of financial discrepancies to ensure they are resolved and reported for root cause identification
- Support carrier communication and performance including balancing cost and service levels
- Evaluate carrier performance to requirements and service expectations; provide fact-based suggestions for cost and service improvements with recommendations to add or remove carriers from pool
- Collaborate across the total customer supply chain team on improvement initiatives which enhance the total customer experience
- Monitor OSD activity and collaborate with internal and external process managers to execute against action plan
- Foster positive carrier relationships and support performance reviews with report preparation and participation in business reviews with top carriers
- Serve as a liaison for transportation to the rest of the Supply Chain
- Improve supply chain performance through effective cross-functional communication
- Develop and maintain process and procedure documentation
- Develop and maintain training content; plan and provide training to new hires
Requirements
- 4-year college degree or equivalent experience; degree in Transportation, Logistics or Supply Chain Management a plus
- 7+ years’ experience in Transportation; transportation planning experience a plus
- Solid understanding of the carrier network especially refrigerated
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in transportation operations and ability to support other Operations Managers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Relationship-oriented mindset
- Ability to influence stakeholders in a highly matrixed environment
- Fluency with transportation management systems, Power BI and ERP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to develop and administer operating processes, training material and presentations
- Process improvement and/or Lean Six Sigma certification a plus
Pay
The salary range for this position is $105,000.00 – $149,000.00 USD. The exact salary offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions.

Schedule
This role is considered a “hybrid” position that allows for flexible work, meaning it is a role where collaboration with key stakeholders in Danone Hubs occurs. While you may have the option to work from home on a schedule as agreed to with your supervisor, you are also expected to regularly report to your assigned office location at least 3 days per week.
