About the role

The Sr. Manager of Strategic Insights will design, execute, and manage Skeletal Conditions Business Unit research and analytics projects. This role integrates strategic analysis with actionable insights to inform solutions and set priorities that drive business decisions for the organization. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of primary and secondary market research and analytics, focusing on customer insights, competitive landscape, and market dynamics to deliver insights that help drive patient impact.

The Sr. Manager of Strategic Insights for Skeletal Conditions will report to the Director of Strategic Insights for Skeletal Conditions, with high visibility across commercial leadership, key strategic markets, and functional leadership outside of commercial. Influence and collaboration across functions and markets are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic partner to Skeletal Conditions Business team members, collaborating with BU and Brand Team Leads, Market Access Leads, Global Medical Leads, and SC strategic markets to frame, investigate, and translate key business questions related to brand/asset strategies and tactics. Help prioritize focus and resources based on program needs.
  • Design and deliver qualitative and quantitative market research projects using third-party vendors to provide high-quality, actionable business insights that support data-informed decisions. Play a consultative and integrating role for locally-led projects.
  • Support preparations for governance committees and ongoing leadership reports, including commercial business reviews, earnings narrative, Portfolio Strategy Reviews (PSRs), brand plans, and other governance activities from a Skeletal Conditions perspective.
  • Integrate primary and secondary market research with insights from Competitive Intelligence and pricing and market access teams to support commercial teams, including foundational strategic research (e.g., opportunity assessments, market landscape, patient journey, demand, competitive landscapes).
  • Proactively assess commercial, clinical, and scientific competitive dynamics and threats, synthesizing insights to guide business decisions and inform strategies.
  • Drive an efficient and effective workplan by establishing a cohesive Skeletal Conditions insights and analytics plan and calendar across markets and cross-functional partners.
  • Maintain the Skeletal Conditions knowledge management library, encompassing all insights generation activities across the enterprise, and collaborate with key stakeholders to align the insights plan with IBT, asset teams, direct markets, and cross-functional partners.
  • Support the Integrated Insights Teams for VOXZOGO, maintain the Integrated Insights Plan and Insights Knowledge Management, and assist the BU LT with development, tracking, and reporting of KPIs, metrics, dashboards, and catalyzing action on insights to improve customer reach and field execution.
  • Aid in the development of commercial strategies through market research, analytics, and other sources of insights to support lifecycle management strategies.
  • Present insights objectively and guide decision-making by pairing sound analytics with storytelling to create influential presentations.
  • Support teams in staying up-to-date on emergent insights and analytics capabilities, considering new approaches as warranted.

Requirements

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer or Physical Sciences, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5–10+ years in marketing or strategy roles, ideally within pharma, healthcare, consulting, or complex global organizations.
  • Exposure to pharmaceutical product development and/or commercialization.
  • Deep understanding of primary and secondary research methodologies; proven experience in designing and implementing market research (quantitative and qualitative).
  • Experience managing vendors in complex research projects.
  • Experience with Brand Management: asset/content, strategy, and tactics.
  • Proven ability to connect, integrate, and synthesize analysis and data into meaningful insights that support strategic recommendations and define brand tactics.
  • Capable of understanding data limitations and describing relevant caveats and their impact on business questions.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure complex problems and translate ambiguous business needs into actionable solutions.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.

Work Environment

Hybrid presential/remote work arrangement, with the ability to work with teams in different geographies across the US, Intercontinental, EUCAN, and Japan markets, and adaptability to different time zones.
