Sr. Manager, Sr. Counsel - Bank Regulation and Policy (Hybrid)
Overview
Capital One seeks a financial services regulatory attorney to join the Bank Regulation and Policy Group of the Legal Department. The role involves analyzing and advising on prudential laws and regulations affecting bank holding companies and national banks, interacting with regulators, and collaborating with business counsel.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on applicable safety and soundness laws, including the Bank Holding Company Act, National Bank Act, and Dodd-Frank Act.
- Analyze and interpret proposed safety and soundness laws and regulations, assist in developing compliance methods, and engage with outside counsel.
- Review new products and services for compliance with safety and soundness laws and coordinate with colleagues in the Legal Department and Policy Affairs Group.
- Engage with industry trade associations to reflect Capital One’s priorities in their efforts.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active member in good standing of at least one state bar
- At least 4 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, in-house legal department, or government agency
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 6 years of federal financial services legal counsel experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage a large volume of work, including complex legal issues
- Understanding of financial and regulatory reporting concepts
- Experience communicating directly with regulatory authorities and drafting regulatory filings
Location and Salary Range
This role is hybrid, requiring 3 days per week in-person at one of our offices in McLean, Virginia, New York, Richmond, or Riverwoods, Illinois. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are as follows:
- Mclean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100 for Sr. Manager, Sr. Counsel
