Sr. Manager, Software Engineering (AppSec/ SaaS)
About the role
The Senior Development Manager for Fortify on Demand (FoD) plays a pivotal role in leading the development and maintenance of a cloud-based application security platform. FoD is recognized as an industry leader by Gartner MQ, offering application security as a service to customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage engineering teams responsible for the Fortify on Demand platform.
- Own the end-to-end software development lifecycle including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and operations.
- Drive secure software development practices and ensure alignment with application security standards.
- Collaborate with product management, security research, and operations teams to deliver high-quality SaaS solutions.
- Ensure platform scalability, performance, availability, and reliability.
- Support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
- Manage technical roadmap and align team priorities with business objectives.
- Mentor and develop team members; foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Manage technical debt and continuously improve system architecture.
- Coordinate incident response and ensure timely resolution of production issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong experience in SaaS product development and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with application security concepts such as SAST, DAST, or software composition analysis.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., .NET, HTML/CSS/JS) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with agile methodologies and engineering best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Fortify products or application security platforms.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security automation.
- Experience managing distributed or global teams.
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as OWASP, SOC2, or ISO 27001.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $164,800.00 - $247,200.00, depending on the candidate’s education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market standards.
