Sr. Manager, Software Development and Engineering Lead
About the role
Join a technology team focused on building the next generation of platforms powering Schwab’s Workplace Services business. In this role, you’ll design and deliver scalable, enterprise-grade applications that support millions of retirement plan participants while helping modernize critical systems, user experiences, and integration capabilities. You'll collaborate with engineers, architects, product partners, and business stakeholders to influence technical direction, accelerate innovation, and improve platform stability, performance, and resilience across a growing portfolio of applications.
Using your expertise in Enterprise Architecture/System Design, C#/.NET Core, Artificial Intelligence, Angular/TypeScript, RESTful Services, SQL, and Application Performance & Scalability, you’ll help deliver secure, high-quality solutions that improve customer experiences and enable future business growth.
Responsibilities
- Design enterprise-level services, systems, and architecture patterns, including working knowledge of Domain Driven Design.
- Leverage C#/.NET Core to build, modernize, and enhance enterprise applications while maintaining reliability, maintainability, and performance.
- Apply Artificial Intelligence technologies and AI-enabled developer tools to improve engineering productivity, software quality, and innovation outcomes.
- Develop responsive, modern web applications and user experiences using Angular/TypeScript to support business-critical workflows.
- Build RESTful Services/APIs to enable secure, scalable integrations across internal and external platforms.
- Utilize strong SQL and Relational Database Development skills to support transaction processing, data aggregation, and backend service integration.
- Improve Application Performance & Scalability by optimizing system stability, resilience, availability, and customer experience at scale.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively, influence stakeholders, and collaborate across cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in Enterprise Architecture/System Design to design scalable services, architecture patterns, and modern platforms that support high-volume enterprise applications and business growth.
- Proven ability to leverage C#/.NET Core to build, modernize, and enhance enterprise applications.
- Demonstrated ability to apply Artificial Intelligence technologies and AI-enabled developer tools.
- Exposure to Angular/TypeScript for delivering responsive, modern web applications.
- Proven expertise in RESTful Services/API Development.
- Strong SQL and Relational Database Development skills.
- Demonstrated ability to improve Application Performance & Scalability.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience applying Domain Driven Design principles to enterprise application architecture.
- Experience with modern authentication and authorization frameworks, including OAuth 2, SAML, and JWT.
- Experience implementing web accessibility standards and inclusive user experiences.
- Experience utilizing test-driven and behavior-driven development approaches.
- Experience participating in Agile and Scrum-based software delivery teams.
- Passion for evaluating emerging technologies and translating innovation into measurable business value.
