Sr. Manager Quality Assurance

Responsibilities

• Establish objectives, prioritize work, and monitor performance for all functions within the Quality Department, including:
  • Supplier Quality (Receiving Inspection, PPAP, Gauge Calibration, Material Testing)
  • Advanced Quality Planning
  • Customer Quality (in-house returns, warranty, and zero-mileage)
  • Product/process Quality
  • Quality System Auditing
  • Production Validation Testing (ES Test Laboratory)
• Establish and monitor the quality assurance budget and quality cost budget, seeking continuous improvement opportunities.
• Decide material disposition for major nonconformances and monitor corrective action implementation.
• Report and monitor plant performance to quality objectives, identifying problem areas and initiating improvements.
• Coordinate and champion customer quality visits.
• Decide supplier self-certification based on evaluation checklist results.
• Perform quality system surveys or production readiness assessments at critical suppliers.
• Review customer complaints, coordinate analyses, responses, and corrective actions.
• Monitor failure analysis progress and initiate timely responses to supplier issues.
• Coordinate an effective SPC program and monitor its implementation.
• Review internal Quality System Audit results with Plant Staff and initiate corrective actions.
• Evaluate quality information for product liability investigations and coordinate plant responses to risk management.
• As the management representative for TS16949, decide quality system actions and coordinate implementation with Plant Staff.
• Provide a safe environment in QA-operated laboratories.
• Offer technical service to all departments as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, quality, or a related environment.
• 5+ years of experience leading quality functions, teams, programs, or systems in manufacturing.
• Experience with quality management systems and principles, including IATF 16949 or similar standards.
• Knowledge of manufacturing quality processes, product launch quality, root cause analysis, corrective action, process control, and customer quality expectations.
• Ability to interpret and apply customer-specific quality requirements and performance metrics.
• Proficiency with standard business systems and quality tools, with demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and support corrective actions.
• 2+ years of experience managing direct reports or leading cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Automotive or similarly regulated manufacturing experience.
• Experience with supplier quality, customer quality, advanced quality planning, production validation, or quality systems auditing.
• Project management and production management experience.
• Experience working with global or cross-functional teams.
• Experience leading other leaders.
• Knowledge of electronic brake, electronic suspension, or related automotive systems.
