The Sr. Manager, Project Management — AI in Product Management (AIPM) role at Capital One involves driving strategy and executing on high-priority projects for the company. Team Information

The AI in Product Management (AIPM) initiative was founded in late 2025 with a clear charter: make AI and agents a force multiplier for product management, across Capital One. The role is a build-it-from-the-ground-up opportunity for someone energized by ambiguity, comfortable creating structure where none exists, and eager to shape how tens of thousands of product associates work in the age of AI.

General Responsibilities

  • Establishing scalable processes — standardized templates, operating routines, and reporting — for collecting AI experimentation from the product community, including ~75 VP+ Product Towers
  • Tactically operating the end-to-end pipeline of collection, triage, and dissemination of inputs to Track Leads and the broader program, blending scalable mechanisms (e.g., intakes) with high-touch ground game (directly engaging each product leader on a defined cadence)
  • Maintaining a living map of AI champions and leads across the LOBs in support of the AIPM leadership team
  • Identifying which techniques are emerging as best practices and teeing them up for action by the program team, so local innovation compounds into enterprise-wide benefit
  • Designing, developing, and managing project plans in a complex, dynamic environment, revising to meet rapidly changing requirements
  • Pricing: McLean, VA: $177,700 - $202,800 for Sr Manager, Project Management
  • Partnering cross-functionally with product leaders to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership that drives project delivery
  • Building relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders at all levels to ensure delivery of commitments
  • Leveraging problem-solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent
  • Demonstrating a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic, complex environment
  • Bringing excellent communication and partnership skills, essential for interacting with key stakeholders across the company to manage, inform, and influence outcomes

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
    • At least 7 Years of Project Management experience
    • At least 1 Year of People Management experience
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Masters / MBA degree
    • 8+ years of Project Management experience
    • 2+ years of People Management experience
    • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
    • Demonstrated interest in AI transformation and upskilling in AI and agentic tooling
    • Hands-on use of AI agents and agentic tooling (e.g., Claude Code) — even early-stage, self-driven experimentation counts
    • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
    • Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
