About the role
The Sr Manager, Production Operations will lead a team responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of production schedules, from start to finish. They will be accountable for identifying and mitigating potential issues, optimizing production processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Leading a layered team of production supervisors, lead technicians, and hourly/non-exempt technicians
- Owning the production schedule end-to-end
- Proactively identifying schedule risks, capacity constraints, and resource gaps; escalating critical blockers and facilitating cross-functional resolution
- Developing short-, medium-, and long-range production plans that account for labor capacity, material availability, tooling, and facility constraints
- Partnering closely with Quality to ensure production non-conformances are identified, documented, and addressed
- Identifying and executing labor and cost-efficiency improvements
- Partnership with Facilities and EHS to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient production environment
- Identifying skill gaps on the floor and developing or procure advanced skill programs covering composite fabrication, hand assembly techniques, and quality inspection methods
- Prioritizing workforce relations matters, developing, communicating, and enforcing team policies in a fair, consistent, and equitable manner
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or 7+ years of experience working in an aerospace, automotive, aviation, nuclear, or other manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience leading production in a high-quality, precision manufacturing environment in a leadership role with direct reports
- Strong technical understanding and practical knowledge of manufacturing process, systems integration, and hardware requirements
- Track record of building and executing continuous improvement programs using lean tools and structured problem-solving methodologies
- Experience working in a startup or high-growth manufacturing environment where processes are still maturing and ambiguity is the norm
