This position focuses on performance strategy, agency leadership, measurement, customer journey optimization, media mix planning, and growth strategy. Media buying and day-to-day ad management are handled by external agencies. The role carries significant ownership, decision authority, and accountability within the digital commerce organization.

Responsibilities

  • Own and set the performance marketing strategy and channel roadmap across paid search, paid social, affiliate, influencer, retail media (including Amazon On-Site & DSP and Criteo/Retailer.com), and emerging channels.
  • Lead the strategic relationship with performance agencies, establishing clear direction, priorities, testing agendas, and success metrics.
  • Hold agencies accountable for delivering against agreed KPIs, experimentation roadmaps, and optimization plans.
  • Direct cross-channel alignment between DTC, Amazon, and Retail Media strategies to ensure cohesive execution and efficient investment.
  • Partner with Finance and Analytics to inform forecasting, performance readouts, and post-campaign analysis, providing clear inputs and recommendations.
  • Evaluate new platforms, partners, and media opportunities, making recommendations on where agencies should test, scale, or deprioritize.
  • Act as accountable agency sponsor to drive success in the relationship, set strategic priorities, and hold agency and internal teams accountable.
  • Define and optimize end-to-end customer journeys across paid, owned, retail media, and commerce touchpoints to improve acquisition, conversion, and repeat purchase behavior.
  • Partner cross-functionally to identify growth opportunities, remove friction in the customer journey, and improve marketing efficiency across channels.
  • Guide measurement strategy in partnership with Analytics, including MMM, MTA/MMT, incrementality testing, match-market testing, attribution, and cross-channel performance analysis.
  • Translate performance, investment, and customer journey data into clear, decision-oriented insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Define and drive the test-and-learn agenda across paid media, measurement, and customer journey initiatives, ensuring learnings are documented, shared, and operationalized.
  • Partner with Finance and Analytics to develop data-driven investment recommendations, media allocation frameworks, and budget optimization strategies across channels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
  • 5–10 years of experience in performance marketing, growth marketing, media strategy, or marketing analytics roles.
  • Strong experience working through agencies to execute ads or manage platforms.
  • Solid understanding of paid media channels, including search, social, affiliate, influencer, and retail media (Amazon Ads, DSP, Criteo/Retailer.com).
  • Experience developing customer journey strategies, growth frameworks, and cross-channel performance plans that improve marketing effectiveness and business outcomes.
  • Familiarity with measurement approaches such as MMM, MTA/MMT, incrementality testing, match-market testing, attribution, and media effectiveness analysis.
  • Experience developing investment strategies and budget allocation recommendations using data, testing frameworks, and commercial performance insights.
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence cross-functional partners and agencies.
  • Commercially minded and comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
