About the role
As the Strategic Planning & Business Innovation Manager, you will lead and support cross-business initiatives, provide strategic advice to senior management, and manage business and strategy planning for the T-Mobile Mobile Account Team. This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Mobile Business Planning and Strategy and collaborates closely with T-Mobile Account and senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Strategy Development:
- Create mid-to-long term strategies for the T-Mobile account team and develop strategic communications for internal and external audiences.
- Analyze competitive marketplace intelligence and develop strategies to grow market share.
- Create, develop, and own the T-Mobile to Samsung executive wiring structure, including follow-up of cadence, discussion agenda, and action items.
- Develop and own revenue acceleration programs with sales and marketing teams, including ROI analysis and investment strategy.
- Provide strategic insights and thought leadership on mobile industry, channel, and consumer trends to top management.
- Develop business cases and strategic options based on industry insights, internal capabilities, financial models, and ROI analysis.
- Identify, analyze, and develop potential new business models and joint business plan (JBP) partnerships to drive growth.
- Strategic Analyses:
- Provide senior management with timely analysis on competitive threats, movements, and strategies, including recommended actions.
- Analyze industry, market, and sales channels to determine potential impact, set targets and KPIs, and generate action plans.
- Analyze primary, secondary, and third-party data to inform business decisions.
- Provide in-depth analysis of quarterly and annual earnings reports.
- Support business decision-making with critical analysis involving total addressable market (TAM), install base, and source of volume.
- Generate sellout forecasts for competitor models using sensing data and market intelligence, and maintain internal systems.
- Generate and maintain competitive forecasts in SMART.
- Strategic Communications:
- Create internal (Samsung) and external (customer) communications on business state and strategic issues.
- Support the development of the annual strategic framework for innovation of the T-Mobile team and business.
- Lead and execute cross-functional meetings and workshops of strategic importance.
- Manage weekly reporting to SEA/HQ and own key drive period, product launch, and event reporting.
- Strategic Projects:
- Manage new and innovative strategic projects to develop new revenue streams and grow the business.
- Support legal and contract teams in negotiating terms for new agreements.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop and establish new processes.
- Regularly update stakeholders, identify roadblocks, and solicit leadership engagement for resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of industry experience or 6+ years with a Master’s Degree.
- Experience in mobile categories with similar go-to-market strategies is desired.
- Exceptional strategic planning, analytical skills, and financial acumen.
- Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment to achieve business objectives.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills for discussions at all levels.
- Ability to develop tasks and assignments based on vaguely defined objectives.
- High managerial leadership potential and strong organizational planning skills.
Pay
For Washington State, the salary range for this role is expected to be between $175,000 and $185,000. Actual pay will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
