About the role
The Sr. Manager, Global Medical Affairs – Clinical Nutrition provides clinical and technical expertise to Baxter’s Global Clinical Nutrition business unit, with clinical knowledge for the entirety of Nutrition’s product line. This role partners closely with R&D, Regulatory, Quality, and Commercial teams to inform global medical strategy, support evidence generation, and guide product development and lifecycle management.
This individual plays a critical role in upstream innovation by identifying unmet clinical needs, contributing clinical insight to target product profiles, and ensuring scientific rigor in the development, evaluation, and positioning of Baxter’s Clinical Nutrition portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to development and execution of global medical strategy aligned with product lifecycle and pipeline priorities
- Partner with R&D and upstream marketing to identify unmet clinical needs and drive product innovation
- Provide clinical input into early-stage development, including TPPs, endpoints, and differentiation strategy
- Support competitive landscape assessments and development of clinical value propositions
- Serve as Medical Affairs lead on global product core and exploratory/NPD teams
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based medical and scientific information to internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain deep knowledge of medical literature and clinical trends to inform strategy and decision-making
- Lead interpretation and communication of scientific data to support alignment and engagement
- Develop and support evidence generation strategies, including clinical studies, RWE, publications, and advisory forums
- Collaborate cross-functionally to generate clinical and health economic evidence and translate insights into value-based outcomes
- Build and maintain relationships with KOLs and contribute to scientific engagement strategies and compliant external exchange
- Lead regulatory input, ensure compliance, review claims, and provide training and guidance across medical, clinical, and scientific areas
- Represent Global Clinical Nutrition in internal and external meetings, including scientific forums and customer interactions
- Leverage data analytics, digital tools, and real-world evidence to generate actionable insights
- Willing to travel up to 25% both within the US and internationally.
- Excellent medical writing and presentation skills.
Requirements
- Healthcare professional with 5+ years of clinical experience
- Licensed clinician (PharmD, MD, RD, or other relevant allied health professional)
- Prior experience in Medical Affairs within pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry required
- Strong understanding of regulatory and quality requirements in product development and lifecycle management
- Experience in clinical research, evidence generation, and publications preferred
- Exposure to real-world evidence, digital health, or informatics strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Baxter Clinical Nutrition products is preferred.
- Knowledge of Clinical Nutrition and/or hospital-based therapies preferred

Pay
The estimated base salary for this position is $160,000 to $220,000 annually.
Schedule
This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
