This role serves as the primary finance partner to the Marketing organization, supporting advertising spend across Integrated Media, Creative Marketing, Customer Marketing, and Marketing Operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage budget deployment, financial reporting, forecasting, analysis, and ad hoc business support.
- Provide strategic financial leadership to marketing leaders to drive business performance, optimize investments, control costs, and support key decision-making.
- Partner closely with the Director of Finance and functional leadership to deliver planning, forecasting, and performance management activities that support business goals and shareholder value.
- Conduct strategic analysis and problem-solving to fully understand the business; identify and implement process and organizational improvements.
- Plan and ensure execution of department objectives; participate in preparation of the annual budget, review monthly expenditures, and ensure budgetary goals are met.
- Review monthly metrics to ensure goals are met.
- Develop and support a strategic alliance with business partners; participate in cross-functional activities focused on solving business issues and enhancing competitive advantage.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication with other areas of the business including Finance, Operations, and Information Systems.
- Lead, plan, and coordinate work teams efficiently to perform financial functions and activities; utilize metrics to track performance and manage workload.
- Ensure operational processes and procedures are compliant and consistent with established policies.
- Predict revenues and expenditures and report to management.
- Conduct financial planning for the function and make appropriate recommendations.
- Drive key functional financial metrics.
- Directly supervise the work activities of others, including planning, monitoring, and reviewing work of subordinates; make recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal, and professional development.
Requirements
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Thorough working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and internal accounting controls.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Ability to develop and implement strategies that support the objectives of the company.
- Ability to lead and develop subordinates.
- Able to effectively communicate with all departments and levels of associates through both verbal and written methods.
- Critical thinking skills; using logic to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, applying general rules to specific problems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a field of study related to the job (e.g., finance, accounting, business).
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
- MBA preferred.
- Prior experience leading an analysis or planning team preferred.
Schedule
- Primarily office-based with frequent opportunity to move about.
- Overnight travel required less than 10% of the time.
Working Conditions
- Located in a comfortable indoor area; any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position; occasional need to move or lift light articles.
