Sr. Manager, HR Governance

About The Role
The Sr. Manager of HR Governance is responsible for leading and managing key HR compliance functions including visa & immigration, health and safety, employee policy, and processes that support talent risk analysis. You will report into the Senior Director, Human Resources.
This position is based in our New York City office, requiring a hybrid work schedule with 3 days of in-office work per week. Thursdays are a required in-office day for team meetings and events, while your other two office days are flexible to suit your schedule.
Pay
The base pay for this role is: $135,792-$178,227 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of visa and immigration processes to ensure legal compliance for employees and be a strategic partner in evolving program support based on changing U.S. landscape
- Lead health & safety initiatives, audits, and training in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Design, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures aligned with organizational goals and legal requirements
- Monitor and ensure compliance with labor laws, employment regulations, and internal HR standards to inform on adjustments as needed to policy and practices
- Identify and evaluate HR-related risks impacting the organization and develop mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and defined processes for consistency
- Lead the HR Governance team through strategy execution and act as first point of escalation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and external partners including but not limited to People, IT, Comms, Legal, and supporting vendors
- Engage as a project manager for annual handbook renewal and company reduction in force efforts
- Demonstrate integrity, fairness and professionalism in all business dealings that require high confidentiality
- Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

Requirements
- 2+ years leadership experience
- 5+ years progressive HR experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or commensurate experience
