Responsibilities
- Build a team of engineers capable of designing and iterating on new endoscopic devices
- Lead a team of world class engineers and technicians
- Use AI tools to increase development speed and product quality
- Develop the next generation of medical products, applications, and accessories
- Provide expert technical direction and functional leadership of electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering
- Actively engage in solving complex problems that affect product or project development execution
- Manage the engineering team’s resources and budget planning, professional development plan and more
- Enable the staff to operate efficiently and reach their full potential including setting priorities and removing obstacles
- Contribute to the development of the product roadmap
- Assess skillset needed for projects and allocate resources accordingly
- Advise management on best practices to improve design quality and development efficiency
- Stay current on emerging technologies to advance medical device designs using appropriate materials and methods
- Mentor and coach to team leads and staff
- Deliver frequent updates on projects, operational decisions, and schedules to key stakeholders
- Lead technical briefings and discussions for internal and external representatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical); Master’s or MBA is preferred
- 8+ years of product development experience; 5+ years’ experience as an engineering manager
- Advanced technical knowledge and experience in key functional areas
- Proven ability to solve complex cross-functional problems within project and program teams
- Capable of leading and developing a group of highly qualified engineering professionals
- Experience in developing product/processes using knowledge of customer needs, technology, and business acumen
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience in medical device or other highly regulated industry is preferred
Pay
$170,000.00 - $235,000.00 (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary range).
