Sr. Manager Finance

About the Role

The Sr Manager Finance provides financial leadership, direction, and analysis to the functional management team. This role plays a key role in driving functional metrics, controlling costs, and collaborating with the Director Finance and functional leader to achieve business goals and create shareholder value through strategic planning. The position is responsible for developing financial planning, reporting, and leading a team of professionals.

Responsibilities

• Conduct strategic analysis and problem-solving to identify and implement process and organizational improvements.
• Plan and ensure execution of department objectives, including preparation of the annual budget and monthly expenditure reviews to meet budgetary goals.
• Review monthly metrics to ensure goals are achieved.
• Develop and support strategic alliances with business partners through cross-functional activities focused on solving business issues and enhancing competitive advantage.
• Facilitate cross-functional communication with Finance, Operations, Information Systems, and other areas of the business.
• Lead, plan, and coordinate work teams efficiently to perform financial functions and activities, utilizing metrics to track performance and manage workload.
• Ensure operational processes and procedures comply with established policies.
• Predict revenues and expenditures and report findings to management.
• Conduct financial planning for the function and make appropriate recommendations.
• Drive key functional financial metrics.
• Directly supervise and manage the work activities of subordinates, including planning, monitoring, performance appraisal, and professional development.
• Make recommendations concerning selection, termination, and performance of team members.

Requirements

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
• Thorough working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal accounting controls.
• Knowledge of business and management principles, including strategic planning and resource allocation.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or advanced degree.
• Prior experience leading an analysis or planning team.

Schedule & Travel

• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.
• On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
• Located in a comfortable indoor area with infrequent and non-objectionable unpleasant conditions (e.g., typical office environment).
