SimpliSafe · Boston, MA · 2 wk ago
HybridSales$164k–$219k/yrFull-time

About the role

We’re a high-tech home security company dedicated to protecting homes and our mission is to keep Every Home Secure. Our culture encourages collaboration, innovation, and growth, providing opportunities for impactful careers.

Why are we hiring?

We're expanding and looking for talented individuals who share our values to join our team. This role is for someone who wants to make a significant impact in disrupting the home security space.

What You’ll Do

You will be responsible for the technical strategy, governance, and day-to-day operations of our ecommerce platform portfolio, which includes experimentation, personalization, and site operations. You will also lead a team, set the roadmap, and collaborate with various cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform ownership & governance: Own SimpliSafe’s ecommerce platform stack (experimentation/personalization platform, CDP, Google Tag Manager, AI assistant, Microsoft Clarity, and related systems). Define governance, data standards, SLAs, and vendor relationships for each platform.
  • System architecture: Serve as the cross-platform systems architect: design the event/data layer, identity stitching, API integrations, and data flows that enable reliable experimentation, personalization, and analytics.
  • Experimentation enablement: Drive enhancements to the experimentation framework and personalization integrations to increase testing velocity, reduce time-to-launch, and improve experiment quality and learnings.
  • AI workflows & automation: Design, pilot, and scale AI workflows and automation that reduce manual work (experiment setup, analysis, insight generation, prioritization) and responsibly surface AI-driven recommendations to the team.
  • Operational excellence: Implement runbooks, monitoring, cost controls, capacity planning, and performance tracking for platform health and uptime. Own change management and release processes for platform changes.
  • Self-service & tooling: Build intuitive tooling, templates, docs, and training to enable stakeholders to self-serve their work safely and effectively.
  • Leadership & team growth: Hire, coach, and develop the team; set objectives, prioritize work, and model a data-driven, collaborative culture.
  • Measurement & reporting: Define success metrics (experimentation velocity, platform availability, self-service adoption, etc.) and deliver clear dashboards/reports to leadership.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in MarTech, analytics, or platform operations, with demonstrated ownership of enterprise marketing/ecommerce platforms; 3+ years of people leadership or equivalent technical leadership.
  • Strong technical skills: proficiency with event instrumentation and tagging (Google Tag Manager), CDPs (Rudderstack or similar), APIs, and data pipelines; fluent with SQL and comfortable working with engineers on data modeling.
  • Experience with mature experimentation and personalization programs preferred.
  • Practical experience designing and operationalizing AI workflows or automation.
  • Proven experience managing vendor relationships, defining platform governance, and implementing SLAs, runbooks, and governance processes.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills — capable of translating technical tradeoffs to business partners and leading collaborative roadmaps.
  • Strong judgment around privacy, data governance, and security requirements (e.g., GDPR/CCPA implications for tracking and personalization).
  • Passion for experimentation, operational rigor, and building systems that make teams faster and more autonomous.

Values You’ll Share

  • Customer Obsessed - Building deep empathy for our customers, putting them at the core of our work, and developing strong, long-term relationships with them.
  • Aim High - Always challenging ourselves and others to raise the bar.
  • No Ego - Maintaining a “no job too small” attitude, and an open, inclusive and humble style.
  • One Team - Taking a highly collaborative approach to achieving success.
  • Lift As We Climb - Investing in developing others and helping others around us succeed.
  • Lean & Nimble - Working with agility and efficiency to experiment in an often ambiguous environment.

What We Offer

  • A mission- and values-driven culture and a safe, inclusive environment where you can build, grow and thrive
  • A comprehensive total rewards package that supports your wellness and provides security for SimpliSafers and their families
  • Free SimpliSafe system and professional monitoring for your home
  • Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that bring people together, give opportunities to network, mentor and develop, and advocate for change

Pay Information

The target annual base pay range for this role is $164,200 to $218,900. Beyond base pay, we offer a Total Rewards package that may include participation in our annual bonus program, equity, and other forms of compensation, in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and lifestyle benefits.
