About the role

Serve as senior client advisor, leading business development, solution shaping, and delivery for life sciences (pharma, med-device) clients. Own end-to-end custom application programs across web, mobile, and digital products, combining content, cloud, data, and AI layers. Define application and technical architectures, including component, integration, and data architectures aligned to client and ZS standards. Lead technical design, defining technology stack, solution blueprints, interfaces, and deployment topology for cloud-native and microservices-based solutions. Establish and govern design patterns, coding standards, and reusable components to drive consistency, quality, and speed. Own non-functional requirements (NFRs)—performance, scalability, security, availability, observability, and compliance—and ensure they are designed and tested. Estimate effort, cost, and timeline for proposals and programs, driving solution sizing, work-breakdown, and delivery planning. Provide hands-on leadership across cloud, DevSecOps, and integration, partnering closely with engineering, data, and security teams. Build, lead, and mentor multi-disciplinary onshore/offshore teams, fostering engineering excellence and continuous learning. Contribute to practice development and go-to-market, creating reference architectures, accelerators, and client-facing thought leadership.

  • Define application and technical architectures, including component, integration, and data architectures aligned to client and ZS standards.
  • Lead technical design, defining technology stack, solution blueprints, interfaces, and deployment topology for cloud-native and microservices-based solutions.
  • Establish and govern design patterns, coding standards, and reusable components to drive consistency, quality, and speed.
  • Own non-functional requirements (NFRs)—performance, scalability, security, availability, observability, and compliance—and ensure they are designed and tested.
  • Estimate effort, cost, and timeline for proposals and programs, driving solution sizing, work-breakdown, and delivery planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years in technology consulting, digital product development, or agile application delivery.
  • Proven track record leading custom application development (web, mobile, or SaaS) in enterprise environments, ideally life sciences.
  • Deep expertise in application and technical architecture, including multi-tier web, microservices, APIs, and integration patterns.
  • Strong experience producing technical designs, design patterns, NFRs, and architecture documentation (e.g., diagrams, ADRs, interface specs).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead estimations and architecture-driven planning for large, multi-stream programs.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including PaaS, containers, serverless, and security/identity services.
  • Practical experience with DevSecOps, including CI/CD, test automation, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and secure coding.
  • Experience integrating data platforms, event streaming, and enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, clinical/commercial platforms) via APIs and iPaaS.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled or GenAI-augmented applications, including LLM features, conversational interfaces, and intelligent workflows, with ability to partner with data/AI teams.
