Sr Manager, Data Science

Key Responsibilities
Building Business Relationships: Partner with business leaders to understand their strategy, key initiatives, and KPIs, taking shared ownership of reaching their goals.
Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and coach highly technical data scientists, including identifying, recruiting, and onboarding new talent.
Strategy & Methodology: Drive development and execution of the data science methodology and practices strategy.
Stakeholder Engagement: Lead technical engagements with business unit and function stakeholders, as well as senior leaders.
Advocacy & Education: Serve as a catalyst for advanced analytics and data science across the organization, educating business users on advanced analytical concepts.
Driving Adoption: Work with various teams to drive adoption of insights, models, and other outputs, and realize incremental impact.
Advanced Analytics Delivery: Identify and apply innovative analytical techniques to achieve business objectives; lead and directly engage in the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics models and solutions, including predictive and prescriptive outputs.
Vendor Management: Identify and manage relationships with outside data science resources and vendors.
Collaboration and Confidentiality: Contribute to team efforts, protect company confidentiality, and comply with health and safety guidelines.

Attract, develop, engage, and retain a high-performing team.
Drive performance management and compensation processes by communicating job expectations, monitoring and evaluating performance, providing feedback, and facilitating employee development.
Maintain transparent communication with the team through department meetings, one-on-ones, and regular interpersonal communication.
Lead and motivate individuals and teams to build a workplace culture consistent with the company's mission, vision, and values.
Requirements
Education: Master's degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, econometrics, engineering, or another quantitative field.
Experience: 8+ years of relevant work experience, including 2+ years directly managing data scientists.
Skills: Expert knowledge of statistics and advanced analytical/machine learning techniques (forecasting, predictive modeling, network and cluster analysis); demonstrated ability to distill complex business problems into adoptable data science solutions; ability to drive teams to success and influence peers, leaders, and collaborators; advanced expertise in Python, R, and SQL; experience with data science tools (e.g., Databricks), distributed compute, large-scale data manipulation, and cloud-based analytics (e.g., Azure); exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Doctorate in data science, statistics, mathematics, econometrics, engineering, or another quantitative field.
Experience: Leading end-to-end data science project implementations using Agile methodologies; experience in analytical consulting roles.
