Sr. Manager, Corporate Development & Ventures

About the Role

MongoDB is hiring a Senior Manager, Corporate Development & Ventures to drive our inorganic growth strategy, partnering closely with our Sr. Director of Corporate Development & Ventures on M&A and strategic investment activity. This role involves owning M&A execution end-to-end, from sourcing and evaluating deals to closing and integration. You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, People, and other business stakeholders to shape MongoDB's position in data infrastructure and AI. The role sits primarily in Corporate Development, with regular exposure to our Ventures platform.

Responsibilities

• Own Deals, End-to-End: Independently source, evaluate, and run a pipeline of M&A and investment opportunities, build and pressure-test valuation and strategic rationale, and know when to escalate.
• Be the Function's Go-To Person from LOI Through Close: Step in as the primary driver across all Corp Dev workstreams post-LOI, run diligence, coordinate structuring, and bring clarity to ambiguity in the final stretch of a deal.
• Convert Market Insight into Action: Partner with the Ventures team to surface actionable opportunities, maintain a precise understanding of the competitive and technological landscape, and flag high-conviction opportunities.
• Operate Effectively with Senior Stakeholders: Partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Legal leaders on strategic fit, integration, and transaction structuring, and communicate clearly with senior leadership.

Requirements

• 4–8 years of experience in Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Venture Capital.
• Meaningful experience running deal workstreams and owning transactions end-to-end with autonomy.
• Comfort operating independently while knowing when to involve senior leaders.
• Strong judgment, particularly under time pressure and with incomplete information.
• High bar for analytical rigor, balanced with the ability to move without perfect data.
• Ability to engage credibly with technical leaders while maintaining a business perspective.
• Direct, low-ego, and accountable, focused on outcomes rather than process.

Qualifications

• Based in San Francisco, New York, or Austin.
• Reports to the Sr. Director of Corporate Development & Ventures.
• Consistent local office presence, with travel as required for transactions and relationship development.

Pay

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is: $125,000—$245,000 USD. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package, which may include equity, flexible paid time off, parental leave, and health benefits.
