Sr. Manager, Americas Operations & Global FP&A - IDS
About the role
The Sr. Manager, Americas Operations & Global FP&A - IDS is a key leadership role directly aligned with the Brady IDS business segment. Reporting to the Divisional CFO - IDS, this role serves as the primary strategic finance business partner to the VP of Operations, while also leading FP&A and financial reporting for the segment. This position oversees a globally distributed team of operational finance across key manufacturing and distribution sites.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will drive end-to-end operational accounting discipline, standard costing, inventory management, global FP&A consolidations, product margin visibility, and strategic capital allocation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operations Partnership: Act as the primary financial partner to the VP of Global Operations and plant management teams across key global facilities.
- Procurement & Supply Chain Support: Partner with Global Procurement, Logistics & Trade Compliance leadership to analyze freight, tariffs/duties, supply chain contracts, and vendor terms.
- Cost Accounting & Variance Analysis: Oversee accounting and reporting for material costs and conversion costs.
- Global Cost Rolls & Standard Costing: Lead annual and periodic global cost rolls, working closely with plant managers to define activity hours, labor rates, and burden rates.
- Inventory Management: Finance oversight of inventory planning, cycle count accuracy, E&O reserves, inventory FX, and profit in inventory analysis.
- Operational Performance Reviews: Lead monthly financial reviews with plant managers to evaluate conversion costs, productivity metrics, scrap, and operational KPIs.
- Lease & Capital Expenditure Management: Maintain global facility lease listings, review Capex investments, and evaluate Capital Expenditure requests and ROI models for operations.
- Product Line Profitability & Rationalization: Provide deep analytical visibility into product line margins, identifying low/negative margin products and supporting strategic rationalization and pricing efforts.
Additionally, the role will be responsible for Global FP&A & Strategic Planning, including financial consolidation and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and analytics and dashboards.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, the candidate will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive financial analysis, operational finance, and accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3+ years managing direct reports, with demonstrated success leading cross-border or multi-site finance operations.
- Deep knowledge of US-GAAP, manufacturing standard costing, inventory management, and variance analysis.
- Strong financial modeling, capital investment evaluation, and FP&A consolidation background.
- Experience supporting VP-level operational leaders and plant managers.
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and reporting/analytics platforms.
