Sr. Manager, Amazon Strategic Initiatives
About the role
Amazon seeks a Principal Finance Manager to partner with innovators, builders, and operators who think outside of the box and transform bold new ideas into high-impact strategic initiatives that redefine Amazon's presence on the global stage. This role operates at the intersection of strategy, finance, and execution, directly shaping how a business scales a portfolio delivering outsized customer and business value. As Principal Finance Manager, you will operate independently and cross-functionally to drive financial strategy and deliver results in a fast-moving, start-up environment. Assignments will be ambiguous and demand a highly analytical, intellectually curious leader with sharp judgment who can evaluate situations through the lens of the customer, business owner, and financial investor. You must be strategic in vision, rigorous in analysis, and proven in managing competing priorities while influencing decisions through compelling financial narratives, data-driven recommendations, and creative alternatives. This role requires regular engagement with senior business and finance leaders across Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead and partner with cross-functional teams across strategic initiatives, ensuring operating plans deliver strong returns on investment and sustainable, long-term growth
- Shape strategic decisions by developing and presenting analyses, frameworks, and actionable recommendations to senior leadership
- Evaluate and steer business plans encompassing pricing, monetization, roadmap, resourcing, and investment allocation
- Define and analyze key metrics to measure business and financial performance; surface insights that accelerate improvement
- Own end-to-end P&L forecasting and reporting across multiple planning cycles
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science)
- 8+ years of spearheading strategic cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable financial results and advance organizational objectives experience
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience in a leadership position managing finance, accounting and operational processes
- Experience managing and leading employees
- Experience working with technical and business stakeholders from global cross-functional teams
Pay
- USA, NY, New York: 153,000.00 - 207,000.00 USD annually
- USA, WA, SEATTLE: 139,100.00 - 188,200.00 USD annually
