Sr. Machine Operator Day Shift - $5,000 Sign on Bonus

About the role

The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating equipment in one or more value streams of the Florist operations. This position is responsible for the production of valuable, defect‑free products that meet or exceed our customers' expectations. Success in this role comes from executing to standard work and adhering to all company policies.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and mix raw materials following batch instructions.
• Work with hazardous materials utilizing engineering controls and PPE.
• Learn and contribute to Lean, 5S, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Perform production equipment set‑up, clean‑up, safe operation, and operator‑level maintenance of assigned equipment.
• Identify and maintain quality standards while meeting daily and weekly production goals.
• Understand and follow established standard work documents.
• Perform adjustments to production equipment as necessary.
• Communicate production performance to appropriate leaders and departments.
• Support area goals for continuous improvement by serving on project teams as required.
• Adhere to Brady’s attendance, safety, and other company policies.
• Maintain general housekeeping and clean production areas at the end of every shift.
• Provide support within other production areas as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic math and computer skills (e‑mail, MS Office, G Suite, and data entry).
• Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lb repeatedly and stand for 100 % of the shift.
• Ability to bend, twist, crawl, climb, and reach to perform job duties.
• Ability to push/pull 22 lb.
• Ability to read a micrometer accurately within 0.0005 in.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
