Sr Logistics Analyst-Domestic Sourcing (Hybrid)

Pay range: $73,000 – $132,000. Pay is based on several factors including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and negotiate capacity solutions to support Middle Mile business across Flow Centers, Upstream Distribution Centers, New Nodes, LTL and Expedite Services
• Source capacity to support annual forecasts as well as ad-hoc volume spikes
• Evaluate, screen, and onboard potential new carriers for all Middle Mile logistics services; own the maintenance of Carrier and Shipper Agreements in partnership with Legal and Contracts & Catalog Management
• Develop and maintain routines to support on-time and accurate payment to our carriers in partnership with the Freight Payment team
• Monitor and review carrier capacity and efficiency vs expectations with operational teams; support carrier performance management routines
• Lead and engage in cross-functional teams through project management to support network realignments, trailer pool allocation moves, and quarterly business reviews
• Develop and execute deep analysis and reporting pertaining to historical/current transportation network plans and data
• Lead projects as assigned and delegate responsibility to others within the team
• Point of escalation for operations involving addition of new business or removal of carrier business due to performance or costing issues
• Document, manage and improve sourcing processes and routines

Requirements

• 4-year degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of relevant experience within supply chain sourcing/procurement, logistics, transportation industry
• Proven expertise in analyzing logistics solutions
• Proven ability to effectively collaborate with multiple business partners (internal and external) and influence without authority
• Proven ability in performance management of 3rd party providers
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proven ability to communicate clearly in difficult situations
• Self-motivated and demonstrates initiative
• Demonstrates ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity and work with undefined projects
• Strong ability to plan, manage, and prioritize time/tasks effectively
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of general supply chain planning concepts
• Working knowledge of Transportation EDI and Freight Payment standards
• Transportation Systems experience including working knowledge of JDA transportation management solutions
• Experience supporting transportation sourcing in Alaska and Hawaii markets

Schedule

This position operates as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what the role, team, and tasks require for that day.
