Sr. Legal Counsel

Main Responsibilities

• Maintains and manages potential disputes and litigations, including complex transactional and contractual disputes, employment and labor disputes.
• Manages relationships with external counsel and insurance carriers.
• Collaborates with Human Resources on employment law related matters.
• Carries out corporate governance, compliance, and secretarial functions, such as filing and maintaining business and company registrations in the United States, and keeping legal documents and corporate records up-to-date.
• Prepares, drafts, and negotiates legal documents for commercial and corporate transactions.
• Provides accurate, timely, and well-reasoned advice on complex legal matters and keeps executives informed on key legal topics.
• Learns and leads complex contract negotiations with leading vendors worldwide.
• Develops and oversees the implementation and monitoring of internal policies and regional/global legal trainings for executives and employees.
• Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Legal.

Skills And Qualification

• Licensed to practice law in the state of South Carolina.
• At least 7 to 10 years of diverse PQE, including law firm or in-house experience.
• Background in medical device and/or pharmaceutical industry, health regulatory environment, and intellectual property licensing and management is preferred.
• Experience in working in diverse, cross-cultural environments with people from all over the world.
• Ability to operate successfully in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment and to complete multiple tasks independently or collaboratively.
