About the role
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a highly motivated Flight Test Engineer to primarily support the SCS Flight Test Team based out of Patuxent River, MD. The candidate will provide support for all flight test activities, including test planning, creation of required test procedures, post-test data analysis, creation of problem reports, and reporting on test results. The ideal candidate will display professionalism, leadership, a strong work ethic, and the ability to function as a member of the Flight Test Team.
Responsibilities
- Assist in development, execution, and peer review of test procedures
- Participate in both Formal and Non-Formal Test execution events
- Participate in test planning, problem report validation testing, and post-testing data analysis
- Provide support in the creation of required test artifacts
- Lead potential moderate-size test efforts and events in support of Flight Test leadership
- Attend and participate in all Flight Test meetings
- Experience working in high-paced environments
- Willing to support multiple shifts and odd hours to accommodate testing efforts and lab schedules
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in Flight Test, OR a Master's degree AND 6 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in Flight Test
- Active US Government Top Secret clearance
- Experience generating technical documents and working with various software/data processing tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other various programming languages
- Understanding of common Test Engineering test methodologies and practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Software test automation experience
Pay
Primary level salary range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
