Sr Lead Support Engineer

About the role
This highly visible Production Support role reports to the CIO and operates in a 24×7 Service-Delivery, client-centric environment. You will lead production-stability efforts, collaborate with application-development teams, and manage critical incidents that may require weekend or after-hours support.
Responsibilities
- Lead production-stability efforts by preventing issues and improving application resilience.
- Apply ITIL processes and project methodologies to drive Change, Incident, and Problem Management.
- Identify measures to improve application stability, availability, cost efficiency, and productivity.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff, fostering teamwork and communication.
- Consult with business partners to determine optimal technology solutions for business needs.
- Direct systems projects, including planning, status reporting, specifications, and implementation.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements, change-control procedures, and data security.
- Coordinate with onsite and offshore Northern Trust partners to support applications and drive continuous improvement.
- Raise support tickets, analyze root causes, and assist in resolving production issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation, including after-hours and weekend support for high and critical incidents.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of application development and support experience using modern technical frameworks and architectures.
- Prior experience supporting business applications built on Java and database technologies.
- Experience in a DevOps or SRE role is beneficial.
- Understanding of the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) or similar methodologies.
- Experience working in Agile/XP environments.
- Hands-on experience with technologies such as Java, J2EE, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), RESTful interfaces, Git, Gradle, Maven, NPM, Spring (Spring Batch and Spring Boot), Bootstrap, CSS3, HTML4, React.js, Node.js/JavaScript, and Oracle PL/SQL.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in non-technical terms and translate business needs to technology teams.
- Proven leadership and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with global support teams, cross-train, and support multiple critical client-facing applications.
- Experience working with diverse groups, including IT management, technology staff, business partners, consultants, vendors, and clients.

Pay
Salary range: $114,500 – $194,700 USD (base pay).
