Summary
The Senior Lead Power Engineer develops new electrical systems/circuits for various applications. They research system ideas, draw up plans, and provide support throughout the manufacturing process. They work in cross-functional teams to ensure robust and high-quality product development.Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:- Design, develop and implement technical solutions for complex projects.
- Participate in project planning and scheduling.
- Global SME with comprehensive knowledge and industry recognition. Provides technical leadership and direction to a global team of engineers.
- Takes responsibility for non-technical elements of an engineering project (people, financials etc.).
- Reviews and interprets customer specifications and may act as primary customer contact.
- Analyze trade-offs in complex systems and recommend solutions. Develop deployment strategies and plans.
- Lead the deployment of strategic technologies/programs and coordinate global deployment efforts.
- May manage relationships with key vendors/partners.
- Create reports and documentation.
- Solve complex problems.
- Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
- Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Considered a Subject Matter Expert in the area of power design.
- Deep knowledge of DC/DC power topologies and tradeoffs.
- Experienced in designing power systems for networking, compute, or storage products.
- Experienced in high current, high-phase count designs for ASICs and GPUs.
- Familiarity with schematic capture and CAD layout tools.
- Proficient with circuit simulation tools such as PSPICE and LTSPICE.
- Knowledge of high-density power modules and Vertical Power Delivery.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present to various audiences effectively.
Physical Demands
Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required. Occasional travel may be required.Celestica Overview
