Sr Java Software Engineer
Job Summary
Design, develop, and support high-performance, scalable microservices and event-driven applications supporting critical order management and trade processing platforms. The role requires strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, SQL, and Kafka, with the ability to deliver resilient, production-ready solutions for high-volume transaction systems. The team's platforms support critical order management and trading functions at significant scale.
8+ years of hands-on Java development experience. Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Microservices architecture. Extensive experience designing and developing RESTful APIs. Strong SQL skills with experience in: Complex queries and joins Performance tuning Stored procedures/functions Data modeling and indexing Troubleshooting production database issues.
Responsibilities

Qualifications
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or CockroachDB.
- Strong Knowledge Of Apache Kafka, Including Producers and Consumers Consumer groups and partitioning Offset management Error handling and retries Kafka performance tuning and monitoring Event-driven architecture patterns
- Experience with asynchronous messaging and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
- Strong debugging and production support skills.
- Experience developing highly available and resilient enterprise applications.
- Experience supporting high-volume financial or trading applications.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar monitoring tools.
- Experience implementing resiliency patterns such as circuit breakers, retries, and failover mechanisms.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
