Sr. IT Project Manager

About the role

This is a contract assignment with one of our premier Infrastructure services clients in Oakdale, MN. The Senior Project Manager leads large, high-impact, cross-functional projects and may oversee multiple concurrent initiatives. The role includes mentoring other project managers, influencing enterprise stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement in project delivery practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale, complex, or strategically important projects across business units
• Own end-to-end accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and outcomes
• Provide leadership across multiple teams, vendors, and delivery partners
• Serve as primary escalation point for project risks, issues, and decision-making
• Partner with senior leaders to clarify priorities, resolve conflicts, and ensure alignment
• Develop executive-level status reporting, dashboards, and presentations
• Coach and mentor junior and experienced project managers
• Drive adoption and improvement of VMO standards, metrics, and delivery frameworks
• Contribute to portfolio planning and prioritization discussions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
• 8–10+ years of progressive project management experience
• Proven success delivering enterprise-scale projects in regulated or complex environments
• Strong expertise in Agile, hybrid, and traditional methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders without direct authority
• Advanced financial management and forecasting skills
