As a Senior Instructional Technology Specialist, you will support the integration of instructional technology across multiple schools, enhancing and improving the teaching and learning process through technology.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with school leaders, area curriculum specialists, and support teams to assess needs, develop, and implement school-based instructional technology plans.
  • Supports alignment of technology integration practices in collaboration with state teams and the national instructional technology team.
  • Designs, coordinates, and delivers high-impact professional development programs (synchronous, asynchronous, and hybrid) that build staff capacity in instructional technology.
  • Provides support in the rollout, training, and ongoing use of educational platforms and devices (e.g., iPads, Apple TVs, learning management systems).
  • Advises school-based leadership teams in evaluating, selecting, and implementing digital tools that align with instructional goals and equity priorities.
  • Provides targeted, individualized coaching to educators and instructional leaders on leveraging technology for effective and innovative teaching informed by insights gathered through classroom observations.
  • Provides leadership in diagnosing and resolving instructional technology challenges, including interactive displays, devices, and instructional software, coordinating with IT teams when needed.
  • Collects, analyzes, and presents usage data and feedback to inform strategic decision-making, professional learning, and technology investments.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations and reports to stakeholders on regional progress, outcomes, and impact of technology initiatives.
  • Facilitates state-wide communities of practice to share innovative approaches, success stories, and evidence-based best practices.
  • Develops scalable training models and resources to ensure consistency and sustainability across schools.
  • Partners with schools in developing curriculum resources and lesson plans that leverage technology to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Acts as a bridge between instructional staff, IT departments, and school leadership to ensure technology integration aligns with academic priorities and goals.
  • Participates in regional and system-level committees focused on educational technology strategy and long-range planning.
  • Acts as a thought leader, staying ahead of industry trends and shaping organizational direction in instructional technology.
  • Supports and assists with onboarding of new instructional technology specialists.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in Education, Instructional Technology, or a related field.
  • Master's degree required in Educational Leadership, Instructional Technology, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in K-12 teaching, instructional technology, or a related role; experience supporting multiple campuses is preferred.
  • Valid teaching certificate from any U.S. state.
  • Recognitions such as Apple Learning Coach and Microsoft Educator Trainer are required or must be obtained within the first year.
  • Experience with Apple and Microsoft ecosystems in K-12 education settings.
  • Ability to travel daily within the assigned region; some travel outside the region and occasional weekend work may be required.

  • Comfortable delivering professional development to adult learners across multiple formats and audiences.
